Marion's Story

Personal Profile

My Name is Marion Erickson. I am a Dakelh woman from the community of Nak’azdli and a member of the Lhts’umusyoo (Beaver) Clan. I hold a Master of Education from Thompson Rivers University, a Bachelor of Public Administration and Community Development from UNBC, and an Applied Business Technology Certificate from the College of New Caledonia.

My current research focuses on revitalizing Dakelh midwifery and expanding Indigenous-led learning opportunities for healthcare providers. I believe the health and well-being of Indigenous people are deeply connected to the land, and that art and storytelling are powerful tools to build relationships across northern communities. These relationships are essential as we work together to address health inequities in our region.
